Spark Coverage Cup

Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.

The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?

While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.

Below are some of our previous highlights:

Coverage Cup 21/10/19

The days may be getting shorter and the temperature may be dropping, but recent coverage has shown no sign of cooling down.

Starting off the roundup is the Community Tablet team, who secured video coverage on Reuters documenting the company’s visit to Mozambique to bring health awareness to remote communities. An incredible result for the team and an uncontested winner of the Coverage Cup.

It’s also been a strong fortnight for client funding announcements. The jobpal team landed some impressive coverage for the company’s €2.5 million funding announcement, stealing top slots in Fortune and TechCrunch. The Shapr3D team also took to the press with a funding announcement, securing some stellar coverage in Tech.EU and EU Startups.

Customer stories are always a great coverage driver and this fortnight was testament to that. The JDA team secured coverage of the news that Coop Sweden is using the company’s solutions to reduce waste and improve product availability across its stores, including in Retail Technology Innovation Hub and Retail Technology. After scheduling interviews at CONNECT London, the MuleSoft team saw coverage in tier-one publication Computer Weekly, in a piece looking at the Department for Work and Pensions’ use of APIs to drive organisation-wide innovation – a fantastic outcome!

The MuleSoft team have also been kept busy with the new Connectivity Chasm report; the research explores consumer’s views of the experiences delivered by service providers across healthcare, retail, public sector and finance. This resulted in coverage in a number of publications including Verdict, FS Tech, Retail Technology Innovation Hub and Medical Devices.

Features, news hijacks and bylined articles are always sure-fire ways to achieve great coverage and this fortnight was no exception. The Viasat team secured a coveted byline slot in CBR, in which the company’s president discusses the importance of hybrid connectivity in the future of the connected car. The Dynatrace team also appeared in CBR, after securing a place for the company’s founder & CTO in the weekly ‘Five questions with…’ feature, in which he recalls the biggest challenges and successes of his career.

The Venafi team also landed coverage for the company’s Black Hat USA 2019 poll in Computer Weekly, for a feature exploring Facebook’s encryption plans. Finally, after spotting a timely hook in the news, the Peltarion team saw the company’s chief AI officer’s thoughts around the future of deep learning in the NHS appearing in Information Age – an impressive result for the team!

And that’s just a handful of highlights for this fortnight! Keep an eye out here for more coverage to warm the cockles over the winter months.
