Spark Coverage Cup
Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.
The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?
While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.
Below are some of our previous highlights:
Coverage Cup 11/07/2023
Welcome back to another coverage round-up. Kicking off this edition is a host of national media coverage we’ve secured for our clients in recent weeks.
After months of relationship building and targeted pitching, we landed a fantastic piece in the Financial Times for Don Smith, vice-president of Secureworks Counter Threat Unit, discussing the recent MoveIT vulnerability.
We also achieved national coverage for two clients, Dynatrace and WalkMe, in a feature exploring the risks of IT modernisation in the latest The Times/Raconteur business transformation report. Dynatrace highlights how organisations can harness AI and automation to mitigate against the risks, while WalkMe explains how tech can be used once transformations are complete.
The national coverage doesn’t stop there, with Hexaware’s research on banking sustainability covered by City AM. The team compared year-on-year stats to find that sustainability has become less of a strategic priority for banks, who need to take a more short-term view in the current climate.
Meanwhile, our HP team created more headlines with the likes of The Daily Express and The Mirror, using recent threat research that warned of a new Google Chrome extension vulnerability, affecting thousands of users downloading pirated content.
We’ve also had some great enterprise IT coverage. Computer Weekly wrote about how EDF Energy has been using the Dynatrace platform to improve its software development. Meanwhile, the Venafi team reacted fast to a breaking news story on the European Union’s plans to develop new legislation to manage the risk of generative AI, with coverage in Tech Republic and Infosecurity.
Our Cloudera team also picked up some fantastic tech pieces in Beta News and Digitalisation World for its latest research on how enterprises’ complex IT landscapes leave them struggling to use their data effectively.
And last but not least, the Quadient team has been making waves with a Freedom of Information investigation into failing local government communication standards. The news was covered by industry titles, including Local Gov, and local news site Warwickshire World. Warwick Council even phoned the journalist who covered the story with a response to the figures.
