Spark Coverage Cup

Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.

The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?

While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.

Below are some of our previous highlights:

Coverage Cup 23/11/2018

Have you heard the rumours about snow? It hasn’t got cold enough in London for actual snow just yet, but there has certainly been flurries of national coverage in the Spark offices over the last couple of weeks. Spark secured coverage for Elsevier’s VP of Professional Services, Tim Hoctor, in The Times’ Future of Pharmaceuticals supplement in an article about the obstacles surrounding rare disease funding. The team successfully tracked down the freelance writer and organised an interview where Tim was able to discuss the benefits of drug repurposing – a key message for Elsevier!

Elsewhere, the JDA team was busy with the company’s annual FocusConnect conference in Barcelona. dignomica spoke with JDA’s CEO, Girish Rishi and the Founder and Chief Scientific Advisor of Blue Yonder, Michael Feindt. In these interviews, they discussed the industry and how the companies’ strategy is changing to cater to the demands and needs of its customers. Automotive Logistics, which also attended the conference wrote up an overview of the event, discussing what she learned from JDA’s customers, including Mercedes Benz and Renault. The coverage generated showed the value of inviting press to client events and the importance of customers willing to speak at similar events.

Some of the Spark team also made its annual pilgrimage to Birmingham for the SAP User Group Conference. We had a record haul of six journalists attending this year from CBR, The Register, Computing, diginomica, Computer Weekly and Computerworld UK. The two-day event provided the media with a great opportunity to speak to the User Group, SAP and customers. This resulted is some great event coverage across the board.

With Christmas fast approaching, the IMImobile team secured a staggering 15 pieces of coverage regarding how IMImobile is helping that Hermes digitally enhance its parcel delivery experience. Spark was able to spike the attention from the likes of Essential Retail, Internet Retailing, Mobile Marketing Magazine, and Retail Systems.

Finally, Spark secured coverage for not one, but two clients in Information Age’s feature on the threat of cyberwarfare. Both Ian Pratt, co-founder and president of Bromium and Kevin Bocek, VP threat intelligence at Venafi, were quoted as experts discussing their thoughts on how the industry can combat the threat.

Now, where’s my coat?
