Spark Coverage Cup
Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.
The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?
While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.
Below are some of our previous highlights:
Coverage Cup 19/07/2023
We’re kicking off this edition in style with two letters published in the Financial Times. Writing a letter can be great way to break into the national press, you just need a strong and interesting viewpoint in response to the news of the day.
PacBio responded to new EU regulations allowing for the gene editing of crops, explaining the need for scientists to have access to the latest genomic sequencing technologies to advance research. Meanwhile SaaScada outlined how banks can use data to drive financial inclusion and overcome the risk of new Consumer Duty rules limiting the amount banks lend to vulnerable customers.
The CIISec team also secured a national hit in the most recent Sunday Times/Raconteur cybersecurity supplement. They secured coverage with comment in a feature on how business leaders can better measure their return on investment in cybersecurity and prove its value as a strategic asset.
We had two clients appear in a Computer Weekly feature exploring why a service mesh may not be for everybody. First, Venafi outlined the potential security and flexibility benefits, and how to unlock them. Then Dynatrace explained how the complex nature of a service mesh means it will likely only be a workable option for larger organisations.
The Harness team also secured a great profile piece in The Stack when a US-based spokesperson was in town. The interview homes in on the client’s core messaging about bad developer experience leading to burnout and a struggle to retain top tech talent. Our Imperva team also achieved a four-part interview series giving a real deep dive into its recent Bad Bot report. The research was also covered as news by the likes of Computer Weekly and Continuity Central.
Meanwhile, there was some top tier IT coverage around Cloudera’s London Evolve event. Both Computer Weekly and Tech Informed did comprehensive write ups, focusing on Cloudera’s most recent research and it works with Legal & General Investment Management.
Elsewhere, we helped secure more than 20 pieces of coverage across UK and US for IP Fabric’s Series B funding, securing hits in Fortune, Sifted, Tech.EU and Wall Street Journal’s ‘Venture Capital’ newsletter.
And finally, we landed coverage for a couple of great customer stories in key vertical press. Ivalua’s procurement work with CERN was covered by Procurement Magazine, and Transport Security International wrote about how Dynatrace is helping Aeroporti di Roma get more travellers to their destination by unifying observability and security data.
