Spark Coverage Cup

Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.

The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?

While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.

Below are some of our previous highlights:

Coverage Cup 21/09/2023

We’re kicking off this week’s Coverage Cup with some fantastic national coverage. First up, the SecureWorks team secured a briefing with Sky News following a media alert looking at cyber risks to the education sector. This was great example of the power of a timely news hook as it coincided with children returning to school after the summer holidays.

But we didn’t stop there with our news hijacking. The Ivalua team responded to the news on campaigners warning that anti-slavery declarations are becoming a ‘box ticking’ exercise. The team were able to pitch Ivalua research stats and comment to score a great hit in City AM about how inflation and rising costs are causing businesses to ditch their ESG efforts to save money.

Elsewhere, the Kainos team have been busy pitching the news that Kainos has invested £10 million in Generative AI in a bid to advance breakthroughs in AI understanding. And the team did not disappoint, with two hits in BBC – including an interview with Kainos’ new CEO. The team also picked up further coverage for the news in Northern Irish outlets Irish News and Business Post, alongside hits in AI Magazine and IT Channel Oxygen, amongst others.

We also saw some great coverage in the financial services press. The Hexaware team secured coverage in FinTech Global and Finextra for Hexaware’s latest ‘Emerging Technologies in Banking’ report which revealed that the number of UK banks investing the Metaverse is declining. In addition, the Quadient team scored product news coverage in Always Finance on the expansion of the company’s cloud solutions in Japan and the UK.

And last but not least, the Dynatrace team secured coverage on SheCanCode – a website aimed at women in technology – with a video from the client discussing how women can pursue a career in tech and the importance of support networks. The video took months of perseverance from the team, and the good news is there are two follow up video in the works!

That’s all for now but make sure to check out the links on the right.
