Spark Coverage Cup
Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.
The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?
While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.
Below are some of our previous highlights:

We kick off this latest edition with some tailored pitching that led to national coverage for Imperva’s annual bad bot report in the Independent and the Daily Star. The research revealed that nearly half of all internet traffic came from bots in the last year. And the team didn’t stop there, securing interview coverage for Lebin Cheng from Imperva in Security Week, after proactively pitching a story on open banking security risks.
Also landing great coverage this week was the SaaScada team. They secured a hit in The Banker for an interview with the company’s co-founder, Steve Round, on how investment banks can ensure their clients are not “greenwashing”. This was a great example of the rewards that come from building journalist relationships at a key media title.
Elsewhere in cyber security, the Secureworks team secured coverage for a warning issued over a flaw in Microsoft’s Azure Active Directory that allows threat actors to tamper with conditional access policies. This resulted in hits in IT Pro, Computer Weekly and Verdict. Meanwhile Daisy and Dynatrace’s’ views on what channel partners can do to help customers rationalise security portfolios were included in an article in Microscope.
The CYPHER Learning team landed pieces in business and HR titles this week, including TALiNT International, Business Leader and People Management, following research looking at trends in learning and development opportunities in the workplace.
And finally, Ivalua were in the news following the team’s pitching of spokesperson commentary on the importance of safeguarding the UK against disruption, in light of the government’s new semiconductor strategy – with hits in Verdict and Procurement Magazine.
