Spark Coverage Cup
Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.
The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?
While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.
Below are some of our previous highlights:
Coverage Cup 02/08/2023
We’re kicking off this round-up with a piece in Politico, a US based business publication, where our life sciences team secured coverage with a recent analysis conducted by clinical data specialists, Phesi. The article was one of several pieces of coverage the team landed on why COVID-19 is no longer one of the top five most studied diseases in clinical development.
Meanwhile the Quadient team secured a piece of coverage with The Times that demonstrated the long-term value data-led stories can bring. Some stats from an FOI released earlier in the year were included by our team, and were used by the paper’s consumer editor in a piece on the rise of criminal gangs stealing parcels.
We’ve had some great success with letters to editors in recent months. Our Sagacity team kept up the momentum with commentary on the water industry’s plan to raise prices, published by The Financial Times. Sagacity argued that water companies need to use data to ensure they are collecting as much revenue as possible and offsetting the need to raise prices.
And rounding off a strong week for national coverage, Cloudera appeared in a Forbes feature, highlighting Cloudera’s expertise on how organisations can make the most of data analytics powered by generative AI.
We also secured a great piece of coverage in The Banker for Quadient, following an interview warning about the impending Consumer Duty regulations. This came as part of a multi-team effort running over the next few weeks.
Meanwhile our Cloudera team demonstrated how powerful customer stories are, with a write-up in diginomica after an interview with Legal and General Investment Management about its data strategy. Elsewhere, Tech Radar Pro and MicroScope covered Couchbase’s research that found businesses are not letting the foot off the pedal when it comes to investing in digital transformation – despite current economic pressures. And finally, both Vectra and SecureWorks were quoted in cybersecurity publication Assured Intelligence’s story, analysing how businesses can act on the intelligence shared in Verizon’s latest Data Breach Investigations Report.
