Spark Coverage Cup

Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.

The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?

While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.

Below are some of our previous highlights:

Coverage Cup 29/08/2025

There’s been no summer slowdown for our Coverage Cup over the past few weeks.

AI stories continue to top the coverage charts. The Nexthink team wasted no time pitching out the company’s latest report exploring how the rise of AI could see businesses merging HR and IT functions.. After securing interest with the BBC, the findings were the backbone of a BBC News Online article, giving the story national reach and real impact.

Meanwhile our Onnec team landed a Letter to the Editor in The Times, highlighting how the UK’s AI ambitions depend on building resilient, future-proof data centres to meet rising demand. We also placed a Boomi byline with Computer Weekly advising how to manage AI agents to unlock the rewards and avoid the risks. Elsewhere, the Cloudera team moved quickly to news hijack the CMA’s UK cloud market review. Cloudera’s comments on the challenges of switching providers secured standout coverage in City AM and Capacity Media.

We’ve also been pitching some interesting cybersecurity stories. The Red Canary team shared a Threat Detection Report revealing a staggering 500% rise in cloud account-related threats – earning coverage in SC Media, Digit.FYI and BetaNews amongst others. Red Canary’s comments about Microsoft’s most recent Patch Tuesday were also covered by Infosecurity. In addition, research from SentinelOne on North Korean freelancers using front companies to infiltrate Western businesses caught the attention of CSO Online.

In life sciences, our Phesi team pitched stats to coincide with World Lung Cancer Day, laying out just how much real-world patient data is available on lung cancer, securing coverage in Innovation News Network. Meanwhile the PacBio team seized on the UK government’s announcement of a genomic sequencing programme for newborn babies. The team secured a slot on Labiotech’s Beyond Biotech podcast to discuss the scheme in detail and explore the sequencing technologies that will deliver genetic insights.

On the interview front, we also secured a podcast slot for Bentley Systems with edie.net, exploring the environmental implications of the UK Government’s 10-Year Infrastructure Strategy. Elsewhere, the Camunda team secured a video briefing with TechStrong TV on business process management and automation, including a deep dive on agentic orchestration.
