Spark Coverage Cup

Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.

The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?

While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.

Below are some of our previous highlights:

Coverage Cup 30/03/2023

It’s fair to say we have had our heads in the clouds recently, having secured coverage for three clients in The Times/Raconteur’s Cloud for Business report. In a feature on cloud bursting, Couchbase’s CTO Ravi Mayuram outlined the benefits; Jetstack Senior Solutions Analyst Steve Judd explored which types of applications are the best fit; and Dynatrace VP UK and Ireland, Greg Adams, explained how Service Level Objectives (SLOs) can uphold customer experience when activity spikes.

Our Ivalua team also secured coverage in a Raconteur report on credit risk management. This was a great example of putting market research to use. The journalist used Ivalua’s stats on the impact of late payments as part of a longform a feature. We had further interesting insight to share from SecureWorks, with new research warning that email compromise has become cybercriminals’ tactic of choice covered by the likes of Computer Weekly and Tech Radar Pro. SecureWorks also had some interesting news of an Iranian cyber-espionage campaign aiming to identify female human rights activists, which was covered by Infosecurity.

Meanwhile Daisy’s recent initiative with Girlguiding was covered widely in the channel press, including the likes of MicroScope, IT Europa, Comms Dealer and Comms Business. Daisy is encouraging young girls to reduce waste and recycle more by sponsoring a new badge for the famous youth movement.

Our clients have also been making headlines in the life sciences press – with PacBio product news appearing in both News Medical and European Pharmaceutical Manufacturer. Meanwhile, the Pistoia Alliance featured within Drug Discovery World for the launch of its new Pharma Innovation Council. The Pistoia team also placed an opinion article with Labiotech on how pharma should be using social media to drive drug development.
